As a means to make its content available for free to its consumers, Audacy accepts advertisements on its stations, streams, podcasts, and websites. Some of those advertisements are placed by Audacy and some are placed by third parties. Audacy makes best efforts to ensure advertisements are properly targeted to the area they are meant for, however, due to technical limitations, it is possible that advertisements meant for one area or market could be heard in another, particularly when using a cellular connection.
One recommendation we have to improve your ad experience would be to share your location with Audacy, so we may use your location to determine your market, rather than your public IPv4 address.
Please follow the articles below for more information on how to share your location using the Audacy app and the Audacy.com Web Player.

If you opt not to allow location permission as suggested, Audacy utilizes IP-address-based geotargeting, which is not always accurate depending on your internet/cellular provider’s operational needs.
Please note that some devices, such as smart speakers, do not support sharing their location with Audacy, so IP-address-based geotargeting is used. This also applies to some partner platforms, including TuneIn. Finally, some of the third parties Audacy works with to place advertisements only utilize IP-addressed targeting.
If you still hear ads for a different market you are located in after sharing your location with Audacy, please feel free to let us know about your experience by reaching out at support@audacy.com or select the purple chat button at the bottom right of this webpage to submit a ticket.
